Welcome

Welcome to the O Scale Kings

The purpose of this site is to promote the further development of O scale, 2-rail model railroading and provide a list of resources for the O Scale modeler. Briefly, O Scale is the modeling of trains, structures, and people at the scale of one-quarter inch equals one foot (1/4″ = 1′). This scale can also be expressed using a ratio of 1:48.

In comparing this scale to others the following are rough relationships:

  • O Scale is twice as big as HO and four times as big as N.
  • S Scale falls about half way in size between O and HO.
  • G Scale is 1.5 times the size of O

This site is a “work in progress.” It contains links to O scale resources, manufacturers, events, conventions, meets, shows, etc. Keeping these links up to date requires the help and effort of every OSK member. So, please send updated info to Ken Burney.

Membership in the O Scale Kings is open to anyone. Dues are currently $10 per year. Send a check or money order (DO NOT SEND CASH!) to:

  4. Member # 622. Mailed renewal check #3726 ($10.00) on 12/15/11. To date, new card not received. Please advise. Further, how does one log in/out? I hope ‘this’ is not the only method of communication with the organization!?

  5. The primary means of communication is through the Yahoo group. If you are not a member you can find it at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Oscalekings/
The log in is primarily for the people who maintain the website. I am very new to this and will remove the sign in tab as soon as I can figure out how and not lock myself out.
You should have received some O Scale Kings information in the mail since you have posted this. If you haven’t let me know and I will try to find out what the hold up is.
    Thanks

  6. In the last 2 years i have just got into o-scale. I have a portable layout 21′x33′, in 12 sections. I have been trying to start a club up , in spokane WA. There is a lot of o-scaler here but not many wanting to join. I have 4 counting my self so far. i am thinking of joining the o-scale king in hopes that I my learn more about setting up a club. I do get my layout to the area shows. Any suggestions from any one on what I may be doing wrong?

  7. I would like to join OSK. However,I am one of those modellers who think that O Scale is 7mm = 1 foot (ie. a ratio of 1:43.5). Can I join?

I will be at Parsippany in July and will talk with you there. Of course I will also be at Telford in September for the Gauge O Guild show
